December, 2008
Dear Doc,
It seems like only yesterday it was January, and now it’s
December already, and next month is January again! Where does the time
go? It sure gets away from the writer of this letter!
The grandchildren have grown by leaps and bounds and Justin recently
graduated from high school. Sarge stayed home and worked so he could pay
for my trip to CA to attend graduation, bless his heart. The only trip
he took all year was to attend his younger brother’s funeral the 29th of
Nov. On the return trip from Durango, it took us five hours to go from
Colorado Springs to Denver. The snow wasn’t near the problem that all the
traffic was. Kinda like California traffic in Colorado.
Everyone here is fine. We are all getting older... .even
the youngsters, and we’re just going to let the pictures and smiles speak
for us.
My grandfather used to say that the three B’s of a good speech were
to be prepared, be brief and be seated. While I’m not always good at adhering
to that advice, we just wanted to let you know that we still think of you
and hope you are managing to do okay in these troubled times. Wow! Our
very best wishes to you for a Happy Holiday season, regardless of what
you call it. We still refer to it as Christmas, so forgive us if we are
not politically correct. And, as the man said, “be seated, Lou!”
Okay, all right, blessings to you all.
Love,
Lou & Sarge
